52nd REUNION Fort Bragg

Fort Bragg was our Pirate destination on Saturday, October 11, 2014 to ride the Skunk Train for a four hour tour in the beautiful North Coast Redwoods.  Some of us arrived Friday, October 10th.  We stayed at Motel 6 because there was a restaurant and a bar attached, places to gather.  To our surprise there was to be a Karaoke on Saturday night...and an Elvis impersonator.  Who knew he was Spanish speaking.  You can guess what fun we had with that for the night's entertainment.

We met at the train station by 10am where we boarded the train.  Normally they take a more modern engine but because of some issue they had, they rolled out the beautiful steam engine.  It was a fun ride and a beautiful day.  They had a musician who roamed the cars and serenaded us.  We stopped about 2 hours into the ride where there was food and facilities while we waited for them to put the engine on the other end and then we rode back.  There were cars that were open so we could stand up and enjoy the train whistle as it passed little towns.  I have movies of this experience that I am trying to upload to this page.

That night we had fun with the Karaoke and many of our classmates got up and performed.

We stopped on the way out in Mendocino for lunch.  There are many stores and galleries in town.  Until the next time, October 2015 in Solvang, California.
