61st REUNION Placerville
In 2023 the Class of 1962 ventured to Placerville, California. We gathered at the Best Western Plus Placerville Inn for the October 11 and 12th 61st Reunion. The first evening we were able to walk across the parking lot to our Mexican Restaurant Casa Ramos. After dinner, we just gathered in the lobby and the breakfast room for visiting. The next day, after meeting for breakfast, we drove in groups to Apple Hill, famous for many farms next to each other with lots of apple products, food, clothing, gifts, restaurants, etc. There are also many vineyards and u pick orchards.
One of our classmates, Camille Etheridge Fike lives in Placerville and knew of a great restaurant. She led us to Smith Flat House where we were downstairs in an underground cave like room. We all fit, some on a long table and some in twos and threes. It was a wonderful evening. When we got back to the hotel, many of us stayed up to visit more.
I know you want to know that Roger and I and Bonnie and Herk Emmons stopped at the Red Hawk Casino for lunch and a little gambling until the restaurants opened. My lucky day...I came home with some money!
